nice job with the vocals! :D the only thing that im not digging is all that screaming, even if there is so much feeling on it. 4/5 :)

Very nice Version of Klayton's "I Can't Wait" song. This contest is going to have some pretty good songs overall and im glad you put your creative idea to this song, very enjoyable and replayable. I gave you 5/5 for your hard work, looking forward to hear some other stuff from you on this site.

Nightmare Simulation :

I think this is great. At first the screaming just didn't cut it because it didn't outdo Klayton's voice. Now after listening though, it adds it's own touch to your mix. Personally I think you could have sang with his vocals in a few spots to make it more like a remix and settle this little debate. I'd give my comment on that but I don't want to run out this comment section with more of that crap. Great work on the track either way!

Congratulations, you have not only become my favorite mix I've listened to from this contest so far, you are also the first person to get a true 5/5 from me on any rating. As a former metalhead in my younger years, this thing totally threw me back. I also absolutely love that you decided to cut your own vocals and mixed in some of the original snippets as well.

And I'll also mention that I tried after a few listens to find some flaws in the mix, but I really can't find anything that stands out to me.

PHE-NOM-I-NAL. Great work, and I truly hope to see more entries from you in future contests!

@Infinitoar: I don't get why you're disapointed... a lable is nothing more than a thing to categorize something... it doesn't lower it's quality by that. And as I said no one is right or wrong here. You can name it or categorize it as you want. If it is a remix for you , fine... I can live with that ;-) That doesn't change the fact, that this "Mix" is a creative and good mix. No need to be dissapointed if someone calls this a "cover" or whatever... So what's the point? People who called this a "cover" actually gave good ratings for this... so why the dissapointment? only because it's not correct labled in your oppinion? I am not trying to make a big disscussion out of this. I am just interested why you're dissapointed. That's all.

Infinitoar :

@TweakerRay

I'm just going to say this without trying to stir a argument over this "remix".

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remix

And just "my opinion", a cover is something duplicated from the original just done by someone else. Drum covers, guitar covers, vocal covers, etc. A "remix" is a revision. A custom idea derived from the original material, but not exactly the same. Also , ratings do not matter to me one bit here. It's a useless feature compared to the comments that are laid down. That is far more valuable than a "rating". I'm just a little disappointed people actually label this "remix" a "cover" or "remake". Because "to me"[my strong opinion], it's not.

But that's just me. Who cares, eh?

Till next time.

TweakerRay [FiXT] :

@Jay Ray & @Infinitoar: I think no one here is right or wrong. First of all a cover is not just singing over an instrumental. Good covers also change the mood of a song. For example "Hurt" covered by the great Johnny Cash is a example of a good cover. It is very different from the original.
Or take the cover of "Enjoy the silence" covered by Novelle Vage as another example... Covers are very creative and much more than just putting vocals over the instrumental... (that would be a weak cover in my oppinion) - But that's only for my personal oppinion how I define a "Cover" or "good Cover".

I see that much work went into this mix.

How you define this mix is not important. If this is a cover or a remix does not matter to me. This is a solid mix and you're right: Jay added a lot and even did new vocals which is very creative. I find it very difficult to name this a remix if the original vocals are that less used. That makes it a total different song with a new artist, because the vocals are the strongest elements in a song. For me it's still a "remake" or "cover" or "remixcover" or something else ;-)

I hope that explain a little why I called this a cover or cover-remix. The definition "Cover" as you can read it in a common descriptions is a "new" performance of a song. And this here is a new performance, because there are new vocals. See also:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cover_version

however you will name it, it's good... and for that I gave a 4/5. (which is the 2nd highest rating here)

Good Luck and
Cheers TweakerRay [FiXT]

Infinitoar :

I know this may stir some trouble but this is just my wholehearted opinion.

If you think this is a cover, it's not. A cover to me is taking the instrumental of a song and just laying your vocals on it. The instrumental of this song is NOT the same as "I Can't Wait". Not even close.

Jay Ray changed a lot and added his own vocals which are not even Klayton's. Klayton is singing and screaming, Jay Ray is mostly "screaming" and barely singing.

Again, if you think this is just a cover, "I" think your wrong. Because a cover to me is just taking the instrumental of a song and lying YOUR vocals on it. Nothing more. And if you think it's a cover of I Can't Wait, then that must mean ever remix in the world is a "cover" of the original song.

Think about it.

Till next time.

Jay Ray :

What defines "remix" or "cover"?

Even its played with "real" instruments.. and its like in rock/metal style.. is it then cover or remake?

Its up to u :)

But my goal wasn`t to make Cover or Remake for I Can`t Wait.
Just my vision for the song.. in the style i love: industrial Metal.

TweakerRay [FiXT] :

This is a good remix and very creative. The new vocals aren't my taste. I am not that much into the screaming metal thing. I like the normal singing... even when I think this is more a remake than a remix or it is even a cover. (I miss Klaytons vocals here ;-) )

Even while I like the slower parts with the female vocals
this is a 4/5 from me.

Good Luck

Sounds really awesome, the mix is solid. It felt more like a remake to me and I didnt really like the fx on some vocals specially the chorus, but I really like how heavy and punchy this mix is, overall it sounds awesome!!

CollapS :

It's more like a cover. I bet it's the interpretation, most of us whanted to see from Klayton himself, but he went into some kind of dubstep\dnb and track became lighter.

5\5, Jay!

Metal as f**k. Great work!

The production is only *slightly* muddy, and frankly, I reckon it's part of the style, so don't worry about it. At all.

Original vocals are kickarse, you've got a crazy flanger-sounding scream! I like the clean vocals, even with a bit of AutoTune, they suit the stems you've used and are reminiscent of Klayton's style in parts.

The ambient break with the female vocals is an excellent touch too. The switch from clean to scream can get a bit chaotic at times, but apart from the minuscule production comment, that's all the constructive criticism I've got. hahaha. Five!

ProjektPhi :

Cool mix
As i said the hard vocals have something of In Flames/Soilwork Death Metal Stuff ^^ But the melodic Auto-Tune stuff sounds really cheesy in contrast

The Refrain is awesome in terms of vocals, really fantastic

So is Verse 2
I don't know, your voice is awesome you have cool melodies ^^ Why use this much auto tune effect crap ??? :P (Well this is a question of style i wouldn't even scream as much and as hard as you do if i had such a cool voice)

Bridge Part is fantastic, I mean we don't need to argue that this is a clear 5 star mix

Jointed I must say this is quite literally the most anticipated remix "I've" waited for. Nearly everyday I was coming back and checking the remix page to see if this was posted and here it is.

5/5 stars from me to you. As you know ratings don't mean squat here, but hell, I want you to feel proud of this remix and happy to get my 5/5 because this is great.

Production, audio, everything is perfect to me. Nothing bad I can hear in this remix. Some may say: "Eh this is "ok" all this IS, is a "cover" of "I Can't Wait".

However I don't believe that. Takes a lot of effort to put together a remix, even if it is a remix "cover", it still takes a lot of effort, and you should be proud man. You vocals, female vocals, and even the guitars and all the instruments are way cool to me also. Takes major determination and it paid off. "Cover" or not, this is a remix "to me" and I love it.

Sorry for the long post, but I love this remix, downloaded, and straight to my iPod.

Can't wait to hear more from you, and your band. = ]

Till next time.
