We are proud to announce that FiXT Remix will be hosting a featured remix contest for Industrial music legends Front Line Assembly, launching Monday, September 13th, 2010.
Fans & Remixers alike will get the chance to sink their teeth into the raw stems of the track "Hostage" off the latest FLA album, Improvised.Electronic.Device. More contest details, including a list of sponsors & prizes will be announced over the next few weeks.

Over the past 24 years, Front Line Assembly has become heralded as one of the godfathers of industrial music. Their 1992 album Tactical Neural Implant is still considered the best of the best in the genre. Throughout the years, the band has seen many line-up changes, but Bill Leeb remains the constant behind the band. Four years ago, FLA released Artificial Soldier which many fans engaged as one of the band’s top five albums. For 2010, they have returned with the brand new album Improvised.Electronic.Device. The new songs demonstrate that FLA has not lost its edge over the past almost two and a half decades. And as if Front Line Assembly’s legacy and namesake alone weren’t enough for the album, Al Jougensen from Ministry contributes his vocals to “Stupidity.”
Kick off the new school year with new tunes in your earbuds!
Select albums are now only $3.99 – $7.99 at the FiXT Store!

Camel Audio has announced the release of the Planet Earth Sound Library for Alchemy and Alchemy Player. Planet Earth is a new Sound Library packed full of great sounds for electronica, ambient and dance music producers. It features 150 stunning sounds at 320 MB, including massive pads, deep soundscapes, pulsating arps and fat basses. Alchemy Player VST/AU instrument is provided free and includes a further 150 sounds. Soundwise, the library is jammed with jungle soundscapes and tribal rhythms, industrial basses and warped machines. From ancient ritual to glimpses of alternate futures, it offers a world of new sounds for modern electronica, ambient and dance, yet manages to be both warm, lush, light and airy, as well as dark, dramatic and icy, just like Planet Earth itself.
Camel Audio is running a special until the end of August where you get to pay what you want for it with 50% of proceeds going to the Friends of the Earth Charity. Camel’s libraries typically go for $59 each, and if you want to adjust how much of you purchase goes to charity – you can! If Camel Audio reaches their sales goal of $50,000 USD, they will provide a 50% discount coupon valid for any Alchemy Sound Library from the Camel Audio site to all participants and donate an additional 10% of discounted sales to Friends of the Earth. At the time of this post, they are slightly above halfway to their goal and have reached $27,000 with almost two weeks to go.
